Instruction follows the tradition of Morihiro Saito Sensei through the Takemusu Aikido Association. Basics are heavily emphasized, with flowing
technique following later on. In order for Aikido to be considered martial, one must first learn
to handle an attacker who aggressively locks you down. The style also emphasizes breathing, kiai
and weapons training.
In the
beginning, we focus on the basics to study in meticulous detail. What are the essential elements of
posture and how can we generate power from a static position so we can handle an attacker if they
really try to lock us down.
