Aikido Westchester: Martial Arts in Westchester NY

Aikido Westchester NY: Adult Aikido

Instruction follows the tradition of Morihiro Saito Sensei through the Takemusu Aikido Association. Basics are heavily emphasized, with flowing technique following later on. In order for Aikido to be considered martial, one must first learn to handle an attacker who aggressively locks you down. The style also emphasizes breathing, kiai and weapons training.

In the beginning, we focus on the basics to study in meticulous detail. What are the essential elements of posture and how can we generate power from a static position so we can handle an attacker if they really try to lock us down.
